Financial Support
Financial support in generally provided to all students who are accepted into our Ph.D. program, and in rare cases to students who are accepted into the masters program. Fellowships, grants, and research or teaching assistantships are typical forms of financial aid.

For the current academic year and subsequent summer, the standard level of support for incoming graduate students is over $20,000 as teaching and research assistantships, on top of a tuition grant allowing for up to 12 credit hours for each semester served as a TA. Required health insurance, available in a variety of plans at student group rates, is paid partially by the University.

University Fellowships: Applicants having outstanding academic credentials may be nominated by the department for a University Fellowship. These awards typically include a year of fellowship followed by a year of teaching or research assistantship, followed by a third year of fellowship support. Students who wish to be considered for these awards should complete their application by January 1st each year.
