Application Forms & Requirements: Domestic Students

Application Deadlines
Completed applications should reach the Department of Chemistry no later than March 15th each year to be considered for the following fall semester. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, so early submission of application materials is encouraged. Applications completed by January 1st may be considered for a University Fellowship. Only rarely are students admitted in the spring term.

The preferred applicant will meet the following requirements:

• GPA: 3.0 or higher (overall and in the sciences)

• Letters of Recommendation
Recommendation Request Form (pdf)

• GRE Scores (general test)

• Personal Statement

It is expected that applicants will receive a bachelors degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field (with appropriate coursework in chemistry) prior to beginning the graduate program in chemistry.

Notification of Admission
You will be notified of a decision on you application as soon as possible. Our department reviews completed application only, unless special circumstances occur. Normally, you will receive a decision regarding your application between January through April for fall admissions.
