Application Deadlines
Completed applications should reach the Department of Chemistry no later than March 15th each year to be considered for the following fall semester. Applications are considered on a rolling basis, so early submission of application materials is encouraged. Applications completed by January 1st may be considered for a University Fellowship. Only rarely are students admitted in the spring term.

It is expected that applicants will receive a bachelors or Masters degree in chemistry, biochemistry or a related field (with appropriate coursework in chemistry) prior to beginning the graduate program in chemistry.

*GRE Reporting Policy: In general, the Admissions committee will not consider international applications until March 15th of each year. Exceptions will always be made for qualified international applicants who show extraordinary interest in our graduate program by providing an official GRE score report. This report should be send directly to Syracuse University by the Educational Testing Service.
International Applicants for the M.S. degree must provide proof of financial support.
Notification of Admission
You will be notified of a decision on you application as soon as possible. Our department reviews completed application only, unless special circumstances occur. Normally, you will receive a decision regarding your application between January through April for fall admissions.
